Tyrone Lamar McDowell, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2024, at the age of 43. His vibrant spirit and enduring kindness touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Born on March 22, 1981, in Chicago, Illinois, Tyrone was the youngest of three siblings and the cherished son of Mary McDowell and the late Charles McDowell. Growing up, he was known for his infectious smile, boundless energy, and a natural talent for bringing people together.
Tyrone was a dedicated father to his two children, Jalen and Aaliyah, who were the center of his world. He took great pride in supporting their dreams and teaching them the values of compassion and resilience. A gifted storyteller and avid music lover, Tyrone had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel heard and valued.
Professionally, Tyrone was a skilled carpenter who took immense pride in his craft. He built not only homes but lasting relationships with colleagues and clients who admired his commitment and integrity. In his spare time, Tyrone could often be found coaching youth basketball, mentoring young athletes, and sharing his love of the game.
Tyrone is survived by his children, Jalen McDowell and Aaliyah McDowell; his mother, Mary McDowell; his siblings, Marcus McDowell (Shannon) and Denise Robinson (Terrence); his nieces and nephews, extended family, and a wide circle of close friends.
A celebration of Tyrone’s life will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM, with a visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. In honor of Tyrone’s legacy, the family requests donations be made to local youth sports programs in his name.
Tyrone McDowell will be remembered for his unwavering love, generosity, and ability to bring light to every room he entered. Though he is gone too soon, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
